Ever notice the difference in headlines?

I noticed the headline of this story on Yahoo! News, which isn’t ever really fair and balanced, and immediately I noticed a pattern that this is quite demonstrative of…

Think about the bus, disco, pizzeria, shopping mall, and car bombings that happen in Israel. What do the headlines usually say?

“Bus bombing kills 20″

“20 die in Tel Aviv Blast”

Even when the woman was assassinated outside a settlement along with her young daughters, the headlines read:

“4 dead outside Israeli Settlement,” and no mention of the fact that three of the dead were 3, 5, and 11.

But what happens when someone dies in Gaza, the West Bank, or any of the other areas mainly occupied by Palestinians?

You get headlines like this:

“Child Killed in Rafah; Incursion Ongoing”

“Report: 3-year-old girl killed by gunshot to the head in Rafah”

“Palestinian Girl Killed in Rafah Camp”

I always find it interesting how Israelis “die” in bus bombings, but Palestinians are killed or shot.

I always find it interesting how suicide bombings have headlines that say numbers, but Palestinian headlines have headlines that give vivid descriptions of who was killed, how they were killed, what their occupation was, and the type of shoes they wore.

Don’t believe me? The next time a suicide bomber blows himself up near a school bus in Haifa, we’ll discuss this issue again.

Maybe they hate Jews. Why I read the Jerusalem Post, more fair and balanced than the majority of the media.

yahoo, america on-line, and even sometimes google are horrible at that.
I noticed it a long time ago.
AOL is worse than yahoo, if you can believe that.
“Soldiers Kill 40 at Wedding Party”
Doesn’t sound to American to me…
This morning it’s “A No-Show At Graduation: Jena Bush ‘Didn’t Want to Go’ To Ceremony at U. of Texas”
The rest of the article actually titled “Bush Twins Graduate From College”
By JIM VERTUNO, AP is nothing more that a slam towards Bush and his family. Where they bring up how some of the family members have missed other ceremonies and how the twins got in trouble for drinking.

Remember though, the news isn’t biased at all *eyeroll*

I didn’t go to my prom… for the love of god… lock my ass up.

The Mother was Tali Hatuel and she lived in a well established Jewish communiyt, not a settlement, and her FOUR daughters were murdered with her, ages, 2, 7, 9, and 11.

Think about the bus, disco, pizzeria, shopping mall, and car bombings that happened in Israel. What do the headlines usually say?

“Bus bombing kills 20″ or “20 die in Tel Aviv Blast”

Even when the young pregnant woman was assassinated outside a Jewish community along with her four young daughters (all under 12), the headlines read:

“5 dead outside Israeli Settlement” There was no mention of the fact that four of the dead were ages 2, 7, 9 and 11. Nor did it mention that the mother, Tali Hatuel, was 34 and pregnant with a son.

What happens when someone dies in Gaza, Judea, Samaria or any of the other areas mainly occupied by Palestinians?

    You get headlines like this:

“Child Killed in Rafah; Incursion Ongoing” or “Report: 3-year-old girl killed by gunshot to the head in Rafah” or “Palestinian Girl Killed in Rafah Camp”

I always find it interesting how Israelis and tourists die murdered in bus bombings, but Palestinians are killed, murdered, shot or a casualty of the “conflict”.

I always find it peculiar how suicide bombings have headlines that only mention numbers and take out the human element, but headlines involving Palestinians have give vivid descriptions of
who was killed, their names, ages, how they were killed, what their occupation was, information about their family, and the type of shoes they wore.

You don’t believe me? The next time a suicide bomber blows himself or herself up near a bus filled with Jewish children, just read the headlines.

A few days ago, I did a rant on something similar (the pathetic state of news reporting) at Caiterwauling. The rant was about a specific news item from Reuters that was written in such a way that it sounded as if the the Israelis had gone loco. Further research on the web uncovered the fact that a couple of key elements were left out of the Reuters story. Pffftttt.

I’ve definitely noticed this. Reuters is especially bad about this.

Your kidding me, the media has a bias? When did this happen? Sorry couldn’t help myself.

What’s the matter Vinny, didn’t you know that Jews are prone to spontaneously dropping dead for no reason whatsoever while eating out, dancing, riding buses and driving in cars?

No? Oh, well stay tuned, Reuters and the AP will make sure you never understand otherwise!
