Just A Girl — Our Newest Addition

We finally picked up the truck yesterday. We’re doing our part to inflame the liberals in our neighborhood:

At work – I mentioned the new, upcoming purchase. I love to let the liberals go off about how it harms the environment….ask questions like , “Well, you know it’s harmful to our environment, don’t you” and “SUV’s are killing the ozone layer” , and on and on. I let them ramble – - allow themselves to work into a full blown lather – - and just when I think the moment is perfect and they are just about to pop a blood vessel in their left eye – - that’s when I let them know that it runs on Ethanol. Corn Alcohol……

“Yea? Well, the GMC Yukon XL runs on Ethanol, Ken – - what does your car run on?”

Shuts ‘em up every single time.

Be careful Lisa… They may fly their private jets to a rally to protest your new truck… I mean, isn’t it environmentally conscious for 50 libs to fly private jets to an environmental protest using about 30,000 gallons of jet fuel (some of which is dumped to make the plane lighter for landing, none of which degrades in anyway over time)?

I think we’ve become so accustomed to demonizing SUV’s that people don’t even pay attention to what’s going on. Five bucks says the people Lisa mentioned the truck running on Ethanol to don’t even remember her saying it.

    Vinny – it’s hilarious. One of the most verbal of them all about my new SUV didn’t even frickin’ know what Ehtanol IS!!!

    It burns ethanol? 100% ethanol? Cool!!

    All we got in these parts is ethanol-blended gasoline….. definitely more environmentally friendly than regular gasoline but it can’t be anywhere near as good as your pure ethanol burner.

    a) Liberal are contemptible because some of them don’t know what ethanol is?

    b) You should buy an SUV cuz it gives you a really good opportunity to insult a stupid liberal?

    Good to know that the right is adopting environmental principles from such lofty motives, anyway. Well done.

    a) No, they’re contemptible because they heard a key word (in this case SUV) and immediately launched into a lecture. Similar lecture triggering terms could be:

    -Abortion
    -Affirmative Action
    -Gay “Marriage”
    -War
    -George Bush

    b) You should buy an ethanol powered SUV so you can get the half hour lecture from an uninformed douchebag who feels the need to criticize your purchase which you can invalidate in 3 words; Runs on Ethanol.

    I think it’s priceless.

    I totally agree about the hypocrisy of most liberals. Just one small technical quibble: Where’d you hear that corporate-size jets ever dump fuel to lighten the plane before landing?

    While commercial jets can do that, I didn’t think any biz-jets had that ability.
