Remember Cheney at Yankee Stadium?

Kerry arrives in Boston early – The Washington Times: Nation/Politics – July 25, 2004

Remember how Dick Cheney was supposedly booed at Yankee Stadium? Remember how the mention of the cheers he also got were kind of buried in the stories?

Remember how important him getting booed at a sporting event were?

“It’s a wonderful rivalry. The idea of missing a Yankees – Red Sox series right before a convention is unacceptable. So we changed the policy,” he said.

The boos about equaled the applause when Mr. Kerry was introduced at the game and it’s still unclear what the surprise visit will do to his support in New York.

Why isn’t this as big a deal as that?

Because it’s John Kerry.

Oh, and that’s Senator Kerry, not Mr. Kerry.

Umm. I think, based on his attendance record, the title “Senator” is really no longer required when referring to the man from Massachusetts who think he might be President one day.

Hey! 11% of the time, he shows up for work…

Isn’t that a work record you’d be proud of?

Isn’t that a work record you would cite when asking for a promotion from your employer?

It’s the kind of record that I want!

Imagine it being ok to only show up to work 11% of the time!

You might say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one! I’m with John Kerry!
