Today’s Cycling Log

Posted at 10:28 pm under Me Stuff, Unfiled

Quick spin with Dad day:

Distance: 7.95 Miles
Time to complete: 34:45
Average Speed: 13.7 mph
Top Speed: 23.3 mph
Calories Burned: 587

Really opened the bike up today. Ran a couple of really fast times on a loop near my dad and was very happy overall. Most distance I’ve done on the new rocket, er, bike, and it worked really well. I even had it in the 27th gear.

Oh yeah.

I was flying.

    Run with Son day:

While all he says is true what you don’t know is this. When he rode in the park with me on 10/9 the road was flat we would start out close together for a short time but he would slowly pull away from me at the same steady pace i was trying to keep. and low a behold soon he was out of sight. he got to the halfway point long before me but I made it there just plucking away steadly. On the way back it was the same thing he made it back to the start point long before me and decided to come looking for me (this was nice as I did not feel alone)to see where i was and come with incouragement and concern i just kept plucking away. Than with a breif rest(for my benifit) he and i was off again and almost as soon as we started he was long out of sight. Not being able to keep up with him i decide to check out the fishermen along the shore line there as my legs at this point felt like lead. i returned to the road and who do i see yes here he comes looping the track on the return trip. Now i was there for the workout( not my best effort but 5 miles anyway) but he was there for the training for the race and was glad to see him flying (the rocketeer) on his new weightless bike. At the end of our day I got a chance to try out the rocket and let me tell you I was pushing a 35-40 pound mountain bike arround and he was pushing this feather i lifted his and i could not believe how light it was, so i had to get on it and in three pedals could have been out to the road now i can see why he was out of sight most of the time what a great bike he has and i wish him well on his road race for MS next weekend it will be a long time before you see me there but i will be with him in spirit. Good riding Vinny and remember the street is not as smooth as the track we were on so becareful its not a race to be first just finish you will always be first with me. DAD
