Karma: Ain’t it a bitch?

In April, at Fenway Park, when the Red Sox unveil their championship flag to their fans, guess who their opponent is?

The New York Yankees.

You couldn’t have scripted it any better.

Congratulations guys!

Personally, my favorite karma thing going on with this whole series, notwithstanding the reddish hue of the moon last night during the total eclipse, has to be the number on the uniform of the last out — Edgar Renteria — Number 3. Same number as The Babe’s. Then again, If you take 1918, the year the Red Sox last won the World Series, add the uniform numbers of Ortiz (34), Ramirez (24) and Jason Varitek (33), and then subtract Nomar Garciaparra’s number (5), which the Red Sox did in their big trade at the end of July, you come up with 2004.

    Too eerie.
