New Drug Approved for Multiple SclerosisThe drug, Tysabri, proved more effective than existing drugs, in slowing muscle deterioration.
It’s made by Biogen Idec and Elan. It was orginally called, Antegren until the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requested a name change, to avoid confusion with other drugs.
Experts call the drug a major advance in treating the disease that attacks nerve cells in the muscles. But insist there’s along way to go before there is a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
Outstanding. It’s not a cure, but it’s a step in the right direction. You all know how much MS means to me, so you obviously understand my feeling of hope here…
