That’s right, folks. Johnny Carson, the god of late night television is still dead.
I have a feeling this headline will probably fit in tomorrow and the day after, but we’ll have to just make sure of that. Knowing that Carson is still dead, would it be safe to say that enough is enough with the glowing, gushing, fawning tributes?
He was a dopey TV host with dopey guests and dopey jokes. Sure he was funny, sure he changed late night television, kind of. But can we not kid ourselves here? We don’t need to sanctify the man to pay tribute to him. I’ve reached critical tolerance levels with the gushing and glowing.
