Weight Loss Update

Haven’t posted one of these in awhile. Just wanted to bring you all up to date. Once Spring comes by and it’s not the same thing every week (IE: weight stayed the same, up a pound, down a pound) I’ll get back to doing this once a week. As of right now, though, I have a milestone to share :-)

Starting:

Jan 19, 2004
351 lbs
BMI of 47

Current:
November 20, 2004
271 lbs
BMI of 36

Loss for Week: 3 pounds
Total Loss: 80 pounds
Goal Loss: 136 pounds

Yep, I finally hit that magical 80! My net weight loss for the winter has been around 3 pounds. Most of the time, people gain weight over the winter. I not only have maintained, but if I keep this up, I will have lost weight by the time it’s over. That is probably my biggest success since I started doing this.

Vinny, Just likw you said, I wonder how many of us can say we didn’t gain anything over the winter. The holidays and not enough exercise = weight gain!! (well, Usually) I did have a ? for you. Have you had blood work ups done to see how well you are doing there, IE: sugar and blood fats? Keep it up, you are doing wonderful!!! Congrats~

Well, the last time I had my blood sugar done, it was way within normal range (I think it was between 85 and 92). I’ve never had a cholesterol problem (God knows why, but He ain’t tellign), and the last time I had my blood pressure checked, I was in the hospital and it was off the charts high, but that was because of what was going on and the stress of being in the emergency room.

I think maybe toward the middle of this year, I’ll go have a complete once over done. I’d love to go back to the emergency room and give Dr. Choi a hug. He told me I needed to lose weight, and I did it. I don’t think he expected me to, and I never expected to lose this much, but here I am over a year later and eighty pounds lighter!

I think you should stop by and see the doc that might just be the person that helped to save your life! I am sure he would be so happy to see the huge change you have made in yourself. I know that feeling well too. Congrats again on the big 80!
