Better Off Dumb? Indeed…

It’s amazing how much dumbness one can pack into a single solitary post.

Witnesseth:

Jim McGovern went to Iraq as part of an eight member delegation of Congress and decided after seeing the place for himself that

Everything we have been told about Iraq by the Bush Administration has either been an outright lie or overwhelmingly false.

Ahem…. and he’s a Republican.

Ahem my ass, bro. Seven seconds of research could’ve proven that “assertion” wrong. Witnesseth his Biography:

Currently serving his fifth term in Congress, Jim McGovern was first sworn in as U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’ 3rd Congressional District on January 7, 1997. McGovern has been elected by his New England colleagues to the House Democratic Leadership team as a Regional Whip. McGovern is the second-ranking Democrat on the powerful House Rules Committee, which sets the terms for debate and amendments on most legislation.

Wow. Must’ve been a major oversight allowing a Republican to represent the Democrats. Good one.

Although it does get better, of course….

After skimming by a quip based on a Knight Ridder report with absolutely ZERO details of any kind in it, upon which of course conclusions were based, we come to this piece of brilliance:

The U.K. apparently

turned a blind eye to the smuggling of Iraqi oil shipments outside the framework of the UN-sponsored oil-for-food program because the enforcement of the UN sanctions was not a “top priority” for the Blair government

— why not? The other big player in the coalition did the same damned thing for their buddies now didn’t they?

The Bush administration has been accused of overseeing the sale of $7 million in weapons to the Haitian government thus breaking American law.

Substantiation? Well, it’s apparent, isnt’ that enough? Anyway, despite the fact that it’s based on flimsy accusations, isn’t it nice that libs finally care about oil for food? I mean, suddenly Oil for Food is the biggest scandal. Some left-wing nuts have even posted polls where they can circle jerk each other and go “Oh yeah, the big bad US! Of course they should be charged! They knew!”

It’s a shame the libs didn’t care about Oil for Food when thousands of Iraqis were dying under Saddam. Nope, the only time they care for Oil for Food is when the US can be blamed for it, and the only time they care about dead Iraqis is if they can blare a logo on their site touting how many dead Iraqis there are since the evil US invaded peaceful calm and happy Eden, otherwise known as Iraq.

More brilliance:

And A la Gauche wonders if (Right)WingNut Sean Hannity is willing to stand behind his “wild-eyed liberal loonies” comment when it comes to people who were against the Iraqi war and Pope John Paul II.

Heh. Obviously A La Douche hasn’t listened to Sean since the Pope died. He’s addressed the issue of the Pope and Iraq ad Nauseum. 3 hours a day, every day, A La Douche. That’s all it takes to make you a bit smarter. But then again, that’s research, and we’ve already established in the first quote that libs don’t do no stinking research.

It don’t seem to matter if ya go away and avoid the news for a couple of days or not — when ya come back ya don’t have to look very hard to find ‘em still spinning tales and being hypocrites… right where ya left them.

There’s plenty of spinning going on. Unfortunately, it’s coming from people who think they’re “better off dumb.”

Gee, I’m glad my little mistake, plus my other thoughts and findings for the evening, gave you such inspiration.

    Oh Gee, how original.

    Garbage lyrics.

Now where have I seen those exact lyrics before…

I think it was someone else who thinks they’re better off dumb…

If you guys revel in being dumb, that’s your business. Don’t get pissed off when someone calls your dumbass out on it.

Next time, try to have an original response. It makes things so much more interesting for the other readers.

It’s good to see your newfound attachment to Catholicism is paying such rich dividends in humility, compassion, and forgiveness, Vinny.

Nice to see you’re still taking cheapshots masked in pseudo-intellectualism.

Since when is Catholicism the religion of humility, compassion and forgiveness?

It’s all about guilt man. lol

That wasn’t a cheap shot, Vinny. It was a relatively friendly, if pointed, comment that you might want to think about a bit. Or not.

Humility: What about criticizing our good partisan and lately off-the-deep-end friend is not humble. Were that the case, where criticism is not humble, you would do much better toddling on over to Stageleft, where there are many revelations about the world lately, including the newly discovered interest in the Oil for Food scandal.

Compassion: Why should I feel sorry for him? Is he sick? Dying? Deranged?

Forgiveness: He hasn’t wronged me in anyway I feel a need to forgive him for. In fact, the way I currently see him, I could not possibly care less about what he thinks of me. Nor do I care what any of the other “Better off Dumb” chatters have to say about me.

You see, I was Mr. Humility and the paragon of pragmatism as long as I was just sitting around absorbing cheapshots at the expense of my own beliefs and for the enjoyment of others.

Well, there comes a time when it must be stopped.

I hit that “time” about 3 weeks ago.

I’m afraid you’re not hearing me. I hope someday you do.

    Whatever, Bal.

Umm, aren’t you the same guy that starts with the personal jabs the second a discussion doesn’t go your way? I’m pretty sure I’ve been on the receiving end of those a few times. I believe you’ve even taken a few pre-emptive swings at people you thought might comment a certain way. I’m not looking to start a fight, I’m all for defending your beliefs, but don’t try and paint yourself as some sort of humble punching bag (which is not a good thing). Everyone that reads your stuff knows better.

Peter, there’s a big difference in how you deal with your friends and how you deal with nameless faceless folks in the comments section of a blog.

    Your example is utterly irrelevant.
