On Mother’s Day
Just a thought… Be grateful your mother had you. It’s just too easy not to have a kid these days…
Something from one of my favorite writers, Mary DeTurris Poust:
Ultrasounds have been on my radar screen a lot lately, not just because I’m pregnant but because I’ve also had to report on the latest challenges in the fight against abortion. What has emerged over and over in my interviews and research is that abortion rights activists are starting to realize what many other people in this country already know: You simply cannot deny the humanity of the unborn child on the ultrasound monitor – sometimes now seen in 3D and 4D clarity.
Unfortunately that doesn’t mean that the abortion activists are going to fold up their tents and go home. They’re just starting to take a new approach. Some now freely admit that they know their unborn fetus is a child and they know that what they’re doing is killing but that they still have the right to make that choice. Just last month, the online magazine salon.com ran an article by a woman who had a second trimester abortion and said that she believed she had killed her unborn son and had no regrets. How can that be when most of us have regrets over things as mundane as forgetting a friend’s birthday? Have we lost all value for any human life other than our own?
Yes.
