My Wife Has an Eagle Eye

Posted at 2:29 pm under The Middle East

My wife made an interesting observation after reading an article I already read this morning (apparently I didn’t read it as closely as she did!):

The photos have not provoked much of an outcry in the Middle East but raised concerns about offending Arab sensibilities and doing further damage to the American image already tarnished by the prisoner abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison and a now retracted Newsweek report about the desecration of the Quran at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

So in other words, who’s worried about Saddam in his drawers? The Iraqis? Other muslims? The “Arab Street” we’re always hearing about?

Why no.

Most of the outrage is on our very streets in this here United States, along with the continuous drum beat of Abu Ghraib, Guantamo, and a fake Koran swirlie.

We’re more worried about it than they are, apparently.

We’re more concerned about the dictator than the people who the dictator was killing. Kinda speaks volumes about where the priorities of this country lay.

Hat Tip to Belf!
