To the person I called a self-hating gay man: I’m sorry. I truly believed that what you wrote on two different days in two different places was an attempt to goad me into a fight and belittle me for my beliefs. I apologize and I never should have said what I did about you. Even though I thought you had offended me personally, I had no right to write what I did. Hopefully you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
To the person I called a hypocrite and an example of darwin in action: I apologize. I considered you along with the person above to be attacking me. At a time when everyone was closing in on me, your comments were amplified to a point of being way beyond what you originally said. I never should have said what I did or insulted you, and I’m deeply sorry.
To Stageleft: Our arguments lately have gotten contentious and ugly and they shouldn’t be. We’re all people trying to do the right thing, albeit finding different means of getting there. I apologize to you for the things I said and implied, and I hope that you’d be willing to forgive me. Sometimes when we’re wounded we say things that are hurtful and are often misdirected. My attacks on you were both, and for that I apologize.
To Lisa: I apologize for insulting you along with the others. After all you’ve done for me (and continue to do for me), I should be giving you the benefit of the doubt. I can only say that when it appeared you were “after me,” I really believed that you had turned on me because of the way I viewed a certain issue. I’m through with the childish games and I hope you can forgive me for them.
To Treehugger: I’m sorry. I must’ve taken that post out of context when I went off on you. Throughout the whole mess with all the wingnuts, you were trying to make peace, and I owe you a great deal of thanks for that. I’m sorry for blowing up at you and I hope you can forgive me.
To Balbulican: Dude… I don’t know what to say. I was a jerk and I’m sorry. The same things I loved about you when were close friends were the same things that drove me nuts when I was annoyed with you. I guess you’re just really good at what you do and how you do it. Hopefully you’ll forgive me.
To Sirrios, Paul, Sam, Rhazes, and Rama: I’m sorry for banning you. I have to be better at accepting comments and criticism, no matter how outrageous, without pouting and being a child. You’re more than welcome to comment here any time you want, and the ban has been lifted. Please forgive me for being such a jerk.
To Bsti: You’re more than welcome to hang around. As I said earlier, I have to learn to better accept comments I don’t like. It’s part of being a “public” personality; accepting that which makes you unhappy or uncomfortable. I hope you can forgive me for being such a petulant jerk all this time, and I hope you’ll take this opportunity to return knowing you’re as welcome now as you ever were.
To anyone else who I’ve forgotten: I’m sorry for whatever I did or said or implied. Forgetting you specifically was not an act of omission, but pure forgetfulness. In your hearts I hope you can find it inside you to forgive me for any wrongs I’ve done to you.
As of right now, all withheld anger, fake forgiveness is now over with. I’ve borne my soul for the world to see. Please take this apology as it’s intended; a true olive branch and a sign that I’ve realized the error of my ways and am repentant for them.
