What the hell did they expect?

Sometimes I marvel at the stupidity of the mainstream morons. Witness, if you will, the sheer idiocy of this headline:

NYC Commuters Head to Work Despite Threat

I have to wonder… What the hell did the AP expect? Did they expect New Yorkers to skip work today en masse? Hell, I went to work on 9/12/01! People in this city move on with their lives very quickly, that’s why we’re the greatest city on earth.

It pisses me off that they report this as if they’re suprised by it. There’s nothing surprising about it, guys.

It’s called living life and refusing to do so in fear.

    Not to mention knowing just how astronomically rare terrorism actually is. It’s more a clear-eyed, rational analysis of the threat, and proceeding accordingly.

    For instance, after this news broke, someone at work last night asked me “Are you going to take the subway home?” “Of course”, I replied. After all, riding home in a taxi (all jokes about NYC cabbies aside) is way more dangerous than the subway.

    A friend of mine said she tried to walk home. I think she works in Manhattan and lives in Brooklyn (or something) . It took her two hours. HA HA. She just moved there last year so I don’t think she counts as a true New Yorker yet.
