The risks just keep on coming…

Brokeback mountain gets some acclaim… I know… You’re stunned…

America’s leading gay and lesbian organisation has given ANG LEE’s controversial new movie BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN a boost by calling the movie “the most poignant love story”.

Officials at the Gay + Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) are endorsing the film, which features love scenes between straight actors JAKE GYLLENHAAL and HEATH LEDGER, who play gay cowboys.

And they go so far as the hail the release of the film later this month (DEC05) as “a historic moment in film history”.

GLAAD president NEIL GIULIANO says, “This film has tremendous potential to connect with audiences gay and straight alike. People will relate to these characters and to the emotional authenticity of their story.

What exactly did Gyllenhaal and Ledger “risk” again?

Please. This movie is gonna make them rock stars.

There’s no way I’ll be able to watch this movie. While I believe that gay relationships are immoral and biologically wrong as well, I’m the type of person to live and let live. I don’t go out of my way to change laws for them though. I have gay friends (they are both male, and they dont’ know each other) and I love my friendship with them. They also know how I feel on the subject. As far as the movie goes? Well, I have seen Will and Grace and other shows that feature gay characters. Some I watch, some I don’t. This thing with Heath ledger bothers me though. Why? Cause I’m a straight female. And the idea of a (let’s face it he really is despite his lack of acting prowess) good looking known straight man that we oogle over on screen making love to another man just isn’t a turn on. If it were two woman, my husband would be watching it regardless of who they were. But two men? ugh.
