Slobokan Asks, I Answer…
On the unbelievable (well, almost unbelievable) news that Ray Nagin was in the lead in the mayoral race in New Orleans, Slobokan asks this question:
How could someone as inept during a crisis of this magnitude be leading this election? Unless of course, the selection of candidates running against him wasn’t that impressive either. What motive could people have for wanting to re-elect the very person who failed the people so miserably?
It’s very simple, Slobo.
He’s black.
George Bush hates black people according to Kanye West, but Ray Nagin is a victim of an unjust system that held him down and kept him from helping his people.
It’s very simple. Ray Nagin is a symbol of the black victim mentality that permeated all of New Orleans and still does since Katrina. If anything goes wrong, it’s because the people there are black, and it’s George Bush’s fault. Didn’t evacuate for 10 days? Blame Bush! Buses that could’ve saved lives sat in parking lots in 3 feet of water? Blame Bush! People getting raped in the Super Dome? Blame Bush! Rioters? Blame Bush!
But one thing’s for sure. Nagin has not and will not take any blame no matter how inept he is because he’s black, and the black folks in New Orleans will never turn on one of their own.
There. I said it.
Screw you if you don’t like it. I railed on Bush for weeks after Katrina also. However, I also went after Blanco and Nagin, the two who, in the whole affair, seem to be getting off scott free. Can any of you who don’t like my conclusion about Nagin say the same thing?
Probably fricking not.

I think you know about how I feel about Bush. I hate very fiber of his being. One of the few things I think he did right, was Katrina. He declared a State of Emergency two frigging days before hurricane hit. It was up to the locals to run with it. THEY failed much more miserably than the feds did.
Oh, and you hit it right on the head with that inept, racist piece of shit, Nagin.
