Too far for…

The Apple Blog had an interesting angle today on Apple’s not-so-nice banners at WWDC 2006:

But after seeing multiple banners at WWDC taking direct jabs at Microsoft, I feel like Apple might be pushing it. It’s one thing to make a comment in a keynote, and it’s another to have huge banners at the APPLE Developer conference that specifically target Microsoft.

Do you think Apple has gone too far with the Microsoft jabs?

Too far for what?

I understand the point, but it’s wrong.

Why shouldn’t Apple go after the #1 OS in the country as far as market-share?

For years Apple has just kinda existed out there as an alternative. The fact that they’re aggressively taking shots at Windows should be heartening to Mac owners. Apple isn’t a company content with being a small elite group of happy users. They want to own the market the way Windows currently does. They want people buying Apple computers, using Apple services, and so on.

So when the question comes up, have they gone to far, you only have to ask one more.

Can a company that wants to be number one ever really go too far?
