Many of us will be eating crow today…

Posted at 8:36 am under In The News

After 10 years, the scumbag who killed Jonbenet Ramsey is finally in custody.

The American suspect in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case said publicly Thursday he was with the 6-year-old when she died and called her death “an accident,” a stunning admission that will help answer 10 years of questions in the unsolved murder case.

“I was with JonBenet when she died,” John Mark Karr told reporters in Bangkok, visibly nervous and stuttering as he spoke. “Her death was an accident.”

Police said Karr, 41, admitted to the killing after he was arrested Wednesday at his downtown Bangkok apartment by Thai and American authorities.

Karr will be taken to Colorado within the next week where he will face charges of murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault, Ann Hurst, Department of Homeland Security attache at the American Embassy in Bangkok, said at a news conference in Bangkok.

I can’t wait to hear an explanation of how this “accident” went down. This guy is the lowest form of scum. For 10 years, people have accused her mom and dad of killing her, making up the stories, writing the ransom note themselves, and other outrageous things. He sat by and let them get tortured for 10 years and now, after Mrs. Ramsey is dead, he comes forward.

What a piece of garbage.

I’ll eat crow here. I thought the parents had something to do with it. Obviously, I was wrong.

I wonder how many others are going to admit it, particularly the vultures in the media who had the case all figured out.

    Justice and the Media…

The JonBenet affair shows that people shouldn’t be tried in the court of public opinion and in the media, but in a court of law. The American judiciary system is becoming less and less able to protect the accused from…

They need to make sure they have the right person. After this long, they can’t afford any mistakes!!
It still appears she was both strangled and beaten, if not at the same time, within seconds of one another. One of the complicating factors here will be explaining how one person could have doen both, and how it took the parents so long to find out!!
    This better be good!!

It doesn’t make sense that he would confess to this all of a sudden after ten years. Notice how the child rapists all flee to Thailand, the Turd World Country of Prostituting and Exploiting Our Own Children for Profit?

How did he get into the Ramsey house in the first place? Did they even know him? Media says he is from Georgia, what was he doing on Colorado? Was he stalking JonBenet?

I hope this guy IS the culprit because it has been too long that the case has gone unsolved and the Ramsey family has been under suspicion for just as long. Can you imagine what a nightmare it must be to have been accussed of raping and killing your own daughter when you didn’t do it?

God Bless JonBenet and Patsy Ramsey RIP and the whole family.

I’ll eat crow as well. I thought it was her mother for a while. I thought she did it out of jealousy of her daughter’s beauty and attention and whatnot - you know, like that Munchausim(sp? I know I butchered the spelling there) Syndrome.

I do wish that Mrs.Ramsey had lived to see justice ready to be carried out on the person who deserves it. God grant her and her daughter peace in eternity.

I too hope they do, but I doubt it will happen. As recently as last month I still saw stories on the cover of tabloids in the stores proclaiming the family did it. The issue, here, is that it is illegal to commit suicide in the US, and trying to eat that much crow might be seen as self asphixiation. :) Of course, I don’t see the problem with a few less tabloids in the world spreading lies and hatred.

I’d be surprised if this guy didn’t turn out to be just some nutcase who, for whatever deranged reason he has, is taking responsibility for it. It’s been reported that his ex-wife said that he was living with her in Alabama at the time (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=a14Hv6AWFo2c&refer=canada).

The newspaper where I live (Vancouver), one of them, had a fairly lengthy story on it. Apparently, the suspect confessed over the internet, to someone who had been tracking him for several years, several aspects of the crime that were never made public knowledge.

While he was a resident of Georgie, he is/was a school teacher and, from my understanding, taught in a school or lived near to JonBenet.

I thought for sure it was her mother for the longest time. But, as I’ve grown up (I was 11 when it happened) I’ve read more into it and, while I still think it’s fishy, I don’t think Mrs. Ramsey had anything to do with it.

Meant to commment on this earlier, Vinny, but I’d harken back to those early days when I first started commenting on IT, suggesting that you wait a bit before making such a strong statement about a case that isn’t even a day old yet.

This guy’s already been convicted in the court of public opinion. Thanks to 24×7 news coverage, you can’t get away from his admittedly creepy-looking mug.

But that doesn’t mean he did it. Even if he said he did. Let’s see how this thing unfolds.

  9. Vinny Says:

A guy who confesses is probably worthy of being assumed to be guilty. At least for a little bit…

I have a feeling we’re gonna find out lots about this creepy bastard that’s gonna make most of us squirm.

I’m still skeptical that he did it….His relatives are scrambling to prove he was with them during the Christmas Holidays that year. But I do believe an intruder broke in and committed the crime, borne of a fixation on the little beauty queen. Those beauty pageants sexualize those little girls — I find the whole pageant world extremely distasteful and bizarre.

Back to the crime — That piece of garbage Karr is of such a slight build, he could have fit into that basement window and just waited for the family to come home.

And “accident”? Puhleeze. Even if he didn’t mean to kill her at first, he had all the elements in place to kill her (an accidental garotte?). If you shoot a gun in a crowded room, I guess you could say it was an accident that anyone got shot. Gimme a break.

I know you’re not gonna like this, Vinny:

The 41-year-old teacher sat in a business class window seat next to Mark Spray, an investigator with the Boulder County District Attorney’s office. A U.S. Embassy official and an agent with ”
Homeland Security” on his T-shirt were also part of the escort party.

Before takeoff, Karr took a glass of champagne from a flight attendant and clinked glasses with Spray, who sipped orange juice.

Dinner on board, served on a starched white tablecloth with silverware, was one many passengers would envy. Karr started with a pate, then had a green salad with walnut dressing. The main course was fried king prawn with steamed rice and broccoli, followed by a slice of Valrhona chocolate cake for desert. Karr drank a beer, crushing the can with his hands when it was empty, then moved on to a glass of French chardonnay with his main course.

It’s so nice to see our criminals being treated so well…

    *sigh*

Maybe I should kill a kid. I’ll get a free flight and 5-star dinner out of it.
