"The statistics clearly show that black New Yorkers are being shut out..."

I actually vomitted when I read that line. I would explain why but either you're a rational person who can see the SICKENING absurdity of this man's claim, or you're part of the damn problem.

I am at a loss for words :-(
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('12819','Bob','\"The statistics clearly show that black New Yorkers are being shut out...\"\n\nI actually vomitted when I read that line.
A child making funny faces at adults is SILLY. This is just downright OFFENSIVE. Just the ideas that 1. whites are completely ignored for their apparent lack of ability to get into these schools, 2. Asians are completely ignored for their successes in getting into these schools, 3. it's only blacks and hispanics who matter in this city, and 4. if blacks and hispanics have just as much trouble as whites do getting in, it's racism for the former, complete ignorance for the latter.

Are you freakin' kidding me?!?

Institutional racism?!? How about anyone who wants to get into these schools studying their freakin' head off to make it happen instead of making excuses for underachievers?

I don't know what's worse, when the actual people involved play the race card when things don't go their way, or the higher-ups who encourage that sort of thinking by blaming these people's failures on stupid offensive crap like "institutional racism"!

Y'know, I was all set to have a nice relaxing day shopping for new work clothes and now I'm all a twitter with aggravation.

Uch!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('12820','Belf!!!','A child making funny faces at adults is SILLY.
insignificant thoughts » Blog Archive » Survivor Does What Contestants Do Anyway

[...] John Liu is the Taiwanese Al-Sharpton, for those of you who don’t know. As soon as you dare mention an egroll, he makes sure you’re not doing it in a racist way. I find it ironic that he’s going to protest the divisiveness of a show by rallying various racially segregated groups from the City Council. You’ll notice, btw, that Liu had no comments about the divisiveness of the asian population exploding at the city’s various specialized high schools. Guess that kind of divisiveness is okay.
