So it seems the new thing going around the radio industry is the buzz that Hoo Hoo Howard Stern might return to terrestrial radio. Unfortunately for the rumor mongers, that one is so easily dismantled that anyone with a brain can destroy it. I pretty much destroyed it the last time it came up.
Easily.
So it surprised the hell out of me that so many industry experts were throwing this stupid rumor out again and of course, after everyone was talking about it for a few days, Hoo Hoo came forward and said he’s not interested because he’s happy talking to 1/10th of his old audience on Sirius.
Exactly.
One quote from Hoo Hoo, however, set me off. After following Opie and Anthony to satellite radio (albeit to the #2 carrier, but that’s not really the point) and after insinuating that he could end the O&A appearance on David Letterman whenever he wanted, the rumor popped up again, but this time he said, “I don’t do Opie and Anthony. Opie and Anthony do me.”
Dude. Please.
You followed them to Satellite.
The rumor is you’re following them to dual syndication (no matter how ridiculous and obviously impossible it is to anyone with a brain, at least with Citadel, but in NYC, he wouldn’t fit anywhere else either).
They do you?
What, they broadcast to 1/10th their old audience on the #2 satellite radio provider where they work 4 day weeks and play years of old tapes?
Please.
