Google No Longer Accepting Abortion Ads?

I love Google, but man in this case they’re so full of crap they should be hanging out in a tank under an outhouse.

Google, the popular search engine and web services company, recently notified R.A.G.E. Media that it’s advertisement for Dr. William’ Lile’s pro-life DVD “God’s Miracle of Life” was being pulled for violating a new content policy prohibiting ads related to “abortion and religion.” However, a search on Google for the term abortion will show numerous sponsored ads for abortion facilities and pro-abortion information.

R.A.G.E. Media’s original ad on Google’s AdWords service stated: “Pro-Life DVD on Sale – Amazing 60-minute DVD only $12.99 Recommended by Priests for Life” and linked to that Amazon.com page where the DVD could be purchased. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000GUSGB4/ragemedall/)

Google sent a notification dated September 20 that “Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain ‘abortion and religion-related content’” but that “the decisions we make concerning advertising in no way affect the search results we deliver.”

Oh really? They prohibit those ads? Let’s see

Wow… I guess if “not permit” means allow the hell out of it on page one of search results for the keyword, then they’re upholding their policy perfectly.

Jesus what a bunch of hypocrites.

    “abortion and religion-related content’”

I think what they meant, Vinny, is they’re not going to allow advertisements that include abortion and religion. Such as the “God’s Miracle of Life” – which is religion and abortion intertwined.

They’ll allow abortion ads – so long as there is no religious overtone to it. Meaning, any advertisement for a religious group speaking about abortion.

“They’ll allow abortion ads – so long as there is no religious overtone to it. ”

Which is just as bad! What religion out there is advocating on behalf of abortion!

    The church of liberalism?

  • Halo

    That’s not what I meant.
I think you get what I mean, but I’ll clarify just in case.

I’m not saying any religon is advocating on behalf of abortion – but clearly many religions (namely Christianity) are protesting AGAINST abortion and so, in order to separate the two, Google has implimented this new policy.

It’s not saying advertisements for abortion clinics are against the policy, but religious organizations protesting against abortion with such material as “Gods Miracle of Life” is against policy.

    Hope that cleared things up.
