2. Works for me-- if I type C: and hit enter in the quick search box, my C: explorer listing comes up.

3. I don&#039;t know what crack he is smoking, but Vista&#039;s networking is waaay better than XP&#039;s, and this is coming from an advanced user. I like how it&#039;s laid out, and I actually found the IP address settings in a few clicks. It helps if you read the help, too, ya know :) And of course, improving on something is going to bring about change.

4. Again, he just doesn&#039;t know what he&#039;s doing. There&#039;s an &quot;advanced search&quot; dialog (which is linked off of the normal dialog) that lets you do anything you want, even search files that aren&#039;t indexed, etc. -- and the search options now gives specifics on what file types you want to index.

5. I&#039;ve had better luck than him on this, and Microsoft has fixed some problems that have plagued the file dialogs for a while. I don&#039;t have my network shares randomly fail, so I can&#039;t comment on that aspect; but really, if your network shares are failing, you&#039;ve got other problems.</description>
