From Valleywag, we have a tipster who says Mark Cuban and Jason Calacanis are planning something and it’s gonna be pretty cool:

a storefront location in la with multiple video / audio podcasting booths and hd-cams. the plan is to provide best streaming web video for hosting podcasts, with higher quality bittorrent downloads and the option to subscribe netflix style to dvds of the podcasts for top tier content providers. supposedly this is all supposed to launch this summer and one of the first major clients is cbs who is planning on opening up the content from big brother. no more real player subscriptions, but streaming options provided by cuban and calacanis.

I’d love for Jason to do something like that in his hometown of New York City, but I won’t hold my breath. Good idea, and one I hope takes off. It could be just the shot in the arm that the podcasting industry needs.
