That’s right folks. Muslim women, tired of the misconception that Islam is oppressive to women are holding a meeting of female empowerment. The idea is to show that women do play an active role in Islam and they’re even rewriting some of the Koran to take away the blanket justification religious Muslim men seem to have found in it to beat their wives to discipline them.
Sounds like a good thing. The meeting will take place in one of the Muslim centers of the world, proving that they are indeed correct and not marginalized in anyway.
It’s happening in the United States.
Doesn’t where they’re having the meeting say a lot more about the state of Islam than anything they write during the meeting?
