I don’t buy it…

Posted at 8:43 am under Strange

I’m sorry but I just don’t buy that people could be this stupid

Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Governmentbacked study has revealed.

It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.

There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades - where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem - because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.

The findings have prompted claims that some schools are using history ‘as a vehicle for promoting political correctness’.

It almost seems so ridiculous that it can’t be true…

I don’t know… What do you think?

I doubt it’s true - at the very least it’s exaggerated out of all proportion.
The Daily Mail is very conservative, likes creating moral panic and loves stories in which it can use phrases like “in order not to offend [insert minority group here]” and “promoting political correctness”.

Sounds to me like not teaching slavery ’cause it might offend white people.

I don’t know… I find it hard to believe any government study could produce such loaded language or conclusions… I could be wrong, not being an expert on UK politics, but this just doesn’t pass my BS detector.

Interesting how so many are so worried about offending Muslims but they clam up when it’s Christians and/or Jews being offended.

why would acquiescence to Muslim demands and sensitivities in Britain surprising to anybody? Europe has become all about adjusting their cultures in the name of “Muslim sensitivity”. Appease, appease, appease.

The story linked above does appear to be exaggerated, but the Beeb is also reporting the same story (HARDLY a conservative rag):
