Riveting

I watched a video on Vimeo. It’s from a woman who calls herself BikiniArtist, and she has Asperger’s syndrome. I had no idea what it was. I had kind of heard of it, but that’s about it. Same goes for Autism. I knew it was out there, but had no real point of reference as to what it was, what it did, etc.

Anyway, watch this video. I promise it’s worth it.

Told ya.

I really want to thank BikiniArtist for making this video… Here’s what I wrote in her comments:

BikiniArtist: I have to say that watching you speak about aspergers in a simple and non-clinical way was so refreshing. Often we get lost in the medical aspects and we just confuse the condition with various terms most of us don’t understand, but when someone comes out and explains it all to someone like me with no medical knowledge at all and I can walk away saying, “Wow, I finally get it!” that’s a great thing.

Thanks for making this. You opened at least one pair of eyes.

Let her know what you think in the comments. While you’re at it, let me know what you think too.

I for one was riveted.

Wow. That was incredible to watch. She is very informed of her condition, not to mention very upbeat. Too often there are folks with a minor condition that sit in self-pity moaning and groaning about how unfair life is for them. (I sure hope I don't come off that way!) She educated herself and continued with life. As for her artwork?? WOW. She has some incredible talent. I wish her all the best. Maybe someday I'll own a piece of her artwork.
