I'm not suspicious because I know what they're going for - money and power. All the actions that they're taking are designed to increase their profits and their control over media.

My fervent hope is that alternative radio options like satellite or internet radio will force some of these big conglomerates to focus less on terrestrial and more on emerging markets. It makes sense for them - they want to distribute the same programs to the widest possible audience to lower costs. What's the best way to do that? Satellite or internet.

Give the airwaves back to smaller broadcasters where they belong.

These organizations should go after EVERYTHING then. MADTV SNL ETC ETC. What does the future hold for all forms of media? Well, if all of this "sensitivy" continues, then say bye bye to all forms of FUNNY. The funny thing is, The Dog House's radio station is called "FREE FM"......

Oh, you'll get no argument from me there. I am deeply suspicious of most media consolidation.

Agreed - CBS dug their own grave on this one. Now they have to fire everyone who offends anyone.

Vidiot: Level your outrage at the legislation and lobbying that allowed the airwaves to be distributed in such a ridiculous manner. Why does CBS have control over so very many radio frequencies?

More local airwave usage would allow for a greater variety of voices that are actually relevant to any given geographical region and would encourage real dialog and debate rather then shock-jock oneupmanship.
