Wanna pull your hair out? SURE YOU DO!

Consumerist had a call that a customer made to HP. It was one in a series of calls.

Take a listen and tell me if, in your mind, this call doesn’t exemplify everything that’s wrong with customer service at every PC manufacturer, I don’t know what does.

Oh, and you’ll notice I said PC manufacturers. Apple doesn’t farm out it’s tech support to some backward-ass third world country.

Just sayin.

There are good techs and bad techs at every company. The good techs are set up to fail. You are constantly pushed to get the customer off the phone and keep your call times low. I still buy from the manufacturer where I worked as a tech for over a year though. They were trying to improve and many of the techs just helped people and suffered for long calls. We did farm about half our staff to India but when I left many of the jobs were coming back. I just posted one of my more frustrating calls on my blog. You can get an idea of what we actually deal with.
