Since the comments by the President last weekend, I can't even speak aloud about it without spitting.

I've since contacted the national and state Republican Party officials to withdraw the names of my wife and I from their rolls. Further to please not contact us for the contributions that formerly were theirs for the asking.

As a background, I am a 48 year old former Marine, business owner and church deacon. My wife is 46, mother of three, Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout leader. She also owns her own very successful small business.

We have both been vocal supporters of the President over Iran, Gitmo, interrogation techniques, survalence methods.....ect.

That all ended last weekend. Of course, as a household that obviously doesn't care about doing what's best for the country no doubt he would be embarrised by our support anyway.

No apology necessary. I can't begin to conceive of the circumstances under which we would accept one. This was not an off the cuff slip but prepared remarks he intended to be spread far and wide.

Our children have in the past asked how we could be so partisan in our politics, as "they're all alike anyway." We no longer know how to answer them.
