Duh

Barack Obama in a speech in New Hampshire actually said the following:

“I’ve had people, High School students, come up to me and say Mr. Obama, I’m voting for the first time! This is so exciting!”

The implication, of course, is that they’ve ignored their obligation to vote all those prior years they were in High School.

I don’t know about you, but I was 18 when I graduated High School. I reckon most people are.

My point? Most people who are High School students vote for the first time when they vote.

Just sayin’.

Voting for the first time IS exciting. I remember being excited the first time I voted. That’s how I read that statement. They were telling him this is their first election in which they’re eligible to vote and they’re excited about it.

Not me. I was just annoyed that I had to walk over to the polling place ;-)

I have never voted in person for a Presidential election, only absentee. I wonder if “that feeling” is the same.

Our state still pays for public education up to 21. I’m not sure if that means 21 at the beginning of the school year, though. If it does, then someone could’ve possibly voted in 2004. Of course, I wouldn’t be too proud if I had voters who were still in high school at that age.

    Depends on the state :-)

Yeah, that statement implies that they’re voting for the first time because it’s for him. Like last time around they decided not to because they didn’t like any of the candidates.
