We’re Being Played, Left Falling Right Into It

I saw an article in today’s New York Times that really bares repeating…

One of two Palestinian suicide bombers from Gaza who apparently sneaked into Israel from the Egyptian Sinai blew himself up at a shopping center in this southern desert town on Monday. He killed an Israeli woman and wounded 11 people, medical officials said.

It was the first suicide attack in Israel in more than a year.

The second bomber failed to detonate his explosive belt and was shot dead by a police officer, a police spokesman said.

Militant groups in Gaza made the names of the attackers public later on Monday, saying they had come from Gaza.

Over the previous 11 days, residents of Gaza were able to move in and out of Egypt with relative ease because of a temporary breach in the Gaza-Egypt border. The Egyptian military resealed the border on Sunday, and crowds began to gather at the crossing on Monday. One Palestinian was killed and 16 people were wounded, including Egyptian border guards, when the guards used tear gas and fired on the crowd, according to medical officials in Gaza.

Did you catch what I caught?

A breach in the border? Border “resealed?”

Doesn’t anyone see what’s going on here?

The Arab countries in the Middle East are desperate for us to feel the plight of the poor Palestinian people, yet when it comes time for the Palestinians to enter another Arabic country, they’re kept in refuge camps and segregated from the population. Instead of allowing the free movement between countries that they constantly demand of Israel, they seal their own borders and restrict entry.

Why?

Because the myth of Palestinian oppression only exists so long as the rich Arab nations surrounding Israel can keep fomenting hatred by not allowing Palestinians to move on from the areas they lay claim to. And the left in this country falls all over themselves to sympathize and continuously blame Israel for all the ills of the terrorist-controlled Palestinian territories.

In chess, we call them pawns.

    One major flaw in your conclusions. What if the Palestinians DON’T WANT TO LEAVE. How would you feel if you were kicked out of your homeland and told to be happy living somewhere else. I don’t know many Americans that would be OK with that. Yes there is apathy and hypocrisy amongst the Arab nations regarding their behavior towards the Palestinians but that doesn’t make it alright to treat the Palestinians like 2nd class citizens and suggest they should be happy to leave the land where they were born.

    I was just pointing out that there is a way out in many ways, but all the neighboring countries who care so much have a vested interest in not caring “too much.”

    Besides, Israel is a little sliver of land… look at a map. They took their land and worked it. People from all over the world learn about irrigation from them. They maintain the world’s holiest places. The Palestinians haven’t done a thing with any area that they have.

    Now, none of the other Arab countries are willing to take in the Palestinians. When Palestinians have had access to holy areas, they have destroyed them. They call for the destruction of all Jews.

    All Israeli’s I’ve met have wanted to live peacefully and were fine with allowing Palestinians in to work. Israeli’s let Palestinians into the country to work and they in turn kill people. And the only time Israel expands its area is when they are attacked and they win a war. So why should they have to give it back? Every country keeps the land that they win in war, why not them?

    And besides, people all over have been kicked out of their homelands. Israel was born out of Jews being targeted for genocide while the world watched on. Maybe they deserve a little sliver of land. And besides, after all the ass they kicked to keep it, I think they deserve it.
