Unfairly harm our athletes????

Are you fucking serious?

So...it's not unfairly harmful to our athletes' health to ask
them to engage in extremely demanding physical activity in a city where even the natives refuse to step outside of their homes without a surgical mask because the pollution is so disgustingly out of control.......????????

Honestly! Has she ever seen a picture of Beijing? It looks like a post-apocalyptic version of Los Angeles. From what I can tell, the place is a verified shit hole!!!!

I, for one, wouldn't risk lung cancer for all the gold medals in Beijing...

Ugh... I know I know I just posted, but seriously this just pisses me off... sure sure let's speak out... just like every country always condemns terrorist action. WTF!! Speaking out against and condeming the actions of a group are not effective means of eliciting change!

Hmmm, let's see now, how has this worked in the past...

"Hey England, we want our independence"
"Hey, us women would like the right to vote"
"Hey Hitler, could you stop with all the genocide?"

Oh, I'm sorry, did it take words to get those things to happen? I'm pretty sure it took action of some sort. And we're not talking violence or war in this case, just a strong showing of non-support towards China. But you know, let us feel like we have moral authority because we spoke out... we voiced our dissention, so why on earth should we then miss the party.

Any situation that I sat by and said "Guys, this isn't a good idea" I've always regretted not actually doing something to stop the situation.

Unfairly "harm" our athletes? More like unfairly "upset" them. What about the unfair harm that China is inflicting on others? Well, heaven forbid anyone be dissapointed.

Wouldn't it be more in keeping with a true athletes spirit to boycott? Wouldn't they be prouder to know that they could have competed but it wasn't the right thing to do? Wouldn't it be more "American" to take a stand against injustice?

Eh, what do I know...
