Absolut Bullshit
I should primarily point out that I don’t really drink Absolut vodka anyway. I’m more of a Grey Goose kind of guy, but I’ve been known to partake in the occasional Stolichnaya also.
Recently, in Mexico, Absolut started its “clever” new ad campaign.
Now, I won’t go into the hyper-offended mode, even though I am more than slightly annoyed that Absolut has chosen to take half my country away to appear to nationalist Mexicans, but I will say this much… I wasn’t a big Absolut fan before, and I certainly won’t be bothering with it now. In fact, the only time you’ll catch a bottle of that crap in my shopping cart is if I’m wasting it in something like Penne a la Vodka. Aside from that, I’ll leave that jet-fuel tasting garbage to the peasants who would probably be amused by an ad like this.

Only drank absolut once or twice, but I was never impressed. And after a marketing campaign like that, I’ll most definitely make a note not to ever drink it again.
Anyway, that stuff is good for college kids who have no refinement to their palates and no money in their wallets. I prefer “Jewel of Russia”… it’s a bit expensive at a little more than $60 a bottle, and you most probably need to special order it, but it is the best vodka I’ve ever had. I was a bit upset when some of my relatives poured half a bottle into some punch at thanksgiving… that stuff is NOT meant to be used in punch.
Sorry absolut… the only thing I liked about you were your ads, but that was mostly in the 90’s when you were entertaining. Now you’re just irritating.

Absolut is one of the worst vodkas out there, in my opinion. Too bad their adverts are no longer even interesting. This new advert will only annoy some residents living in the southwest, like myself, who are tired of hearing about Mexican reconquista nut jobs on how they’re going to retake ‘Aztlan’ from the U.S.

eh… since we moved to Texas we’ve only purchased Texas vodkas (besides always keeping one bottle of Grey Goose on hand). Absolut is crap, and their latest ad is crap. Viva Texas, USA!!!

That’s right!!! Go America!!! Fuck Mexico!!! The fact of the matter is that 150 years ago, rightous white Americans marched to the Southwest and kicked some filthy Mexican ass. The Mexicans, though, still haven’t gotten the message and that’s why we are constructing a 700-mile long wall! …Stupid Mexican peasants should move to their sewage stained, rat infested, shithole of a commercial neigborhood (Mexico City) and stop making degrading our beautiful cities!!!

A bit harsh there, Patrick. Additionally, use of the word ‘peasant’ seems a bit outdated. And use of the phrase ‘rightous white Americans’ is a bit offensive as well. Those same white Americans killed innocent people based on race. So we shouldn’t necessarily be proud of all things done by white Americans throughout history.
There’s a difference between patriotism and being a moron.
