    Regarding McCain-Feingold, isn’t it better that a candidate recieves his/her donations from a large group of people, rather than from a single donor? It’s not that I’m a huge fan of the legislation, I just don’t understand what’s wrong with the example you provided.

    Because the point originally was to “take the money out of politics,” and it has absolutely failed at doing so; it just altered the source of the money.
