Sanjay Gupta for Surgeon General?

*sigh*

I wonder where this rumor got started?

President-elect Barack Obama has offered the job of surgeon general to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the neurosurgeon and correspondent for CNN and CBS, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation.

Gupta has told administration officials that he wants the job, and the final vetting process is under way. He has asked for a few days to figure out the financial and logistical details of moving his family from Atlanta to Washington but is expected to accept the offer.

When reached for comment today, Gupta did not deny the account but declined to comment.

Remember that this is the same Sanjay Gupta who got on camera with Larry King and Michael Moore and proceeded to lie through his teeth about the content of the movie, the statistics presented, and the conclusions drawn from the movie. In fact, Dr. Gupta got very little right in his “reality check” on the movie and Michael Moore pwned his ass over and over again for his misrepresentations of the movie and the facts presented.

This is the guy we want as our Surgeon General?

Is this what hope and change is about? Making a guy who can’t comprehend simple statistics the go-to guy for health information in the United States?

No wonder our health care system is so ass-backward here.

It seems to me that Obama is so media-obsessed (as is the media obsessed with him) that he picked a doctor that he saw on TV to be suregon general. He could have at least picked Dr Drew from Love Line. Or better yet Dr House.

Dude, I think you just nailed it as far as his media obsession… He picked a doctor he saw on TV.

    Well put.
