What I got from your post was an impression that you believed the unions' purpose was to protect their members, and that you were angry with them for shirking that duty. My point is that they have no such purpose, whatever their propaganda claims.

I'm laboring under that belief? Did you even read what I wrote? I believe I pretty much pointed out that they weren't in fact there to protect members. For further reference, read this to see my belief on unions.

By the way: nice use of a pun. Laboring under the belief. You're a real card.

You seem to be laboring under an outdated belief, that unions exist to protect their members. This hasn't been the case for many decades; basically since the mob first discovered that union funds were easy to plunder by placing low-level thugs in union leadership roles.

The truth is they can still do a lot of damage as far as pension and continuing benefits go, so I wouldn't take the chance either. Like I said, hopefully the damn union stands up for her.

Ok im a little confused here.

1) They let her go (fired)
2) She said three words to a reporter
3) The same people who fired her called her back and disiplined her.

This seems a little backwards to me. How can they disicpline someone who no longer works for them. Am I misreading this story? If my boss fired me then called me in to write me up I would tell him get fucked.
