Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi, after having a nice sucky face with President Obama and Harry Reid stood on the White House lawn and told reporters that Republicans need to do more than just shoot down proposals, and if they want to be constructive and put a new health care plan on the table, they should do that.
The clear implication of that is that there have been no alternatives put forward by the GOP, right?
Apparently Madame House Speaker doesn’t know what goes on in her own chamber. Nor do the morons in the media who report this stuff.
I’ve been asking myself, if HR 3200 is such a terrible bill, (and it is), why haven’t the Republicans offered anything as an alternative? After all, we keep hearing that the Republicans are only the party of “No”.
Well, imagine my surprise to hear Tom Price, Congressman from Georgia, talking about the bill that he has proposed that has 27 co-sponsors. The plan that Nancy Pelosi wants with the public option, new bureaucracy, and all the rest has only 8 co-sponsors. That’s right, that bill that everyone has been so upset about at the town hall meetings was so atrocious that only 8 members of congress dared to attach their name to it.
The bill is HR 3400.
Now ask yourself.
If the media isn’t in the tank for Obama and this Democrat proposal, why would they let Nancy Pelosi lie like that in front of their faces and not question it?
Why wouldn’t they shout “What about HR 3400?”
Because they want you to believe what she said, that’s why.
