Ever since those seven Senators decided to vote against defunding corruption-riddled ACORN, I’ve been trying to figure out how a common sense legislator like NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand could get roped into a group that didn’t see fit to putting an end to their nonsense. Then I read something today that shed some light on the subject, if not fully explained it.
Shame I hadn’t seen it before.
Apparently, ACORN is very tight with the Working Families Party, a sham front for Democrat candidates who want to appear to have wide appeal. That being said, the WFP does have a nice reach among union members in particular, who make the symbolic vote for their Democrat candidates on the WFP side of the ballot to demonstrate their more “reformist” attitude toward left-leaning policies.
Wouldn’t make sense to bite that hand off as it hands you food, right?
Then there’s ACORN itself. While she doesn’t make any mention of them on her Senate site (probably a no-no), she has no bones about mentioning them on her campaign site…

Now isn’t that interesting? Again… Wouldn’t wanna bite the hand that feeds ya, would you Senator?
Gillibrand didn’t want to defund ACORN because Gillibrand is cozy with ACORN.
So much for the common-sense legislator bill of goods we were sold on.
