Liberal Democrats failed Tuesday to inject a government-run insurance option into sweeping health care legislation taking shape in the Senate Finance Committee, despite widespread accusations that private insurers routinely deny coverage in pursuit of higher profits. The 15-8 rejection marked a victory for Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., the committee chairman, who is hoping to push his middle-of-the-road measure through the panel by week’s end. It also kept alive the possibility that at least one Republican may yet swing behind the bill, a key goal of both Baucus and the White House.

Well, so much for that. Coupled with a recent poll that shows americans oppose Obamacare 56%-41%… Why is this thing still being batted about? People don’t want it, and there are other issues on the table that need dealing with. The longer this is drawn out, the worse it looks.
The Obama administration effed this one up plain and simple. With two houses of Congress AND the White House, AND most of the governorships, they couldn’t get a health care plan done and have no managed to turn more than half the country against it.
What a disgrace.
And the worst part? I’m all for the spirit of it, but not the way they were doing it or the timing of doing it.
