Not Worth The Trip? Lovely.

What a sad day, the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, because the world is celebrating without us. Barack Obama chose not to attend despite a specific invitation from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. An excursion to New York for a “date night” was a promise kept. A quick trip to Europe to try to win Chicago’s Olympic bid was in order. A trip to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize is scheduled.

But the greatest peacetime liberation in history does not warrant much attention, much less attendance. The White House press release congratulating Germany does not even mention the role played by the United States, and President Ronald Reagan, in helping tear down that wall.

So I’ll enjoy the celebrations, as I lament that our President has thrown OUR victory over communism into the dustbin of history.

Tragic.
