You nailed it; the restaurants are always clean, the ingredients taste fresh, the staff is friendly.. I've never had a bad experience at an In-N-Out. Can't wait until they come to central TX-- one of two things I miss about CA (Trader Joe's is the other). Now I'm drooling. Plenty of CA natives LOVE in-n-out, myself included.
