Eyeglasses That Won’t Cost an Arm and a Leg

If you’re in the market for eyeglasses, you’ve undoubtedly discovered the one thing everyone has discovered. They’re expensive. Very expensive.

Oh sure, you can go with your eyeglass plan from your union, but have you seen the frames you can pick from that are “union frames?” Really? I don’t know about you, but most of them remind me of stuff seniors wear as they hike up their Bermuda shorts to go to the movies at 11:30 in the morning for their senior matinée. I prefer something a little more stylish.

So what’s a guy to do?

The Brooklyn Liberal Examiner has an idea…

Zenni sells full prescription eyeglasses starting at just $8 per pair. Yes, that’s right, eight bucks. Talk about cheap prescription eyeglasses, huh? Their prices range up to around $40 and there is an extra charge if you want bifocals or thick lenses. They also charge extra for anti-glare coating (though it’s $4.95 extra as opposed to around $50-$100 extra elsewhere). Shipping is just $4.95 no matter how many pairs you order, so it pays to order for the whole family at one time.

I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds like a really good deal. And they’re not “union frames” either. Take a look at some of the styles available below:

The lesson here is an obvious one. You can get inexpensive glasses that aren’t out-of-style and embarrassing to wear. You do have to know your prescription (which means you have to have a proper eye exam), but Zenni even gives you pretty straightforward instructions on what you need to know when placing your order.

Stop running to the mall to get your glasses and spending a fortune for fashion and give Zenni a whirl!
