Asthma Inhalers To Give Way To Green Bullshit

If you’re not starting to wonder why the environmental idiots care more about plants and trees than they do about people, then you’re probably part of the problem.

Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government’s latest attempt to protect the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.

The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.

But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.

All this in the name of going green.

“If we don’t save the trees, you won’t have oxygen. Now go ahead and die without your inhaler.”

Idiots.

Vincent you need to do some research on asthma and the source of this before you make such claims. These inhalers cause heart damage and no one seeing a doctor would be prescribed these piece of shit products (one of my sons has asthma so we’ve done the research, spoken with his doctors, etc). In fact, the FDA worked with manufacturers to come up with a date so non-CFC products could be in production long before this took effect.

      Okay…

1:  Before I make what claims?  They aren’t banning the inhalers for health reasons, they’re banning them to “save the ozone layer.”  It says so right in the article,  Their effectiveness not withstanding, that’s not the reason they’re being dropped.

2:  Do some research on the source of asthma?  Oh right, so now you’re Doctor Dave.  Okay Doctor Dave, they’re causing heart damage?  Fine, but again, that’s not why they’re being banned.  They’re being banned because they have an effect on the atmosphere, not the person taking the drug.  It says so right there in the article.  Maybe you should do a little research next time, big guy.

Right, and it was signed on for during the Bush administration as a global pact to reduce CFCs. I know you don’t believe in climate change but the bottom line is that it rids the US of a harmful product, both environmentally and physically.

Regardless, you’re just complaining for the sake of complaining on this one. There are bigger issues to be concerned with.

I get annoyed when personal choice is interrupted for the sake of some crisis no one can even prove is the cause of mankind.  Whether it’s harmful physically or not had nothing to do with its banning; it’s all about “going green,” and I don’t care if it’s Bush, Obama, or George Washington: it’s bullshit.

And just to clarify, just because I don’t believe in the hockey stick myth doesn’t mean I think people should treat the environment like shit.  If the environmentalist friends I knew had the carbon footprint I’d do, they’d be ten times better off in their world, so let’s not whip ‘em out and show ‘em.

I guess 97% of scientists believing it’s man made isn’t enough to change your mind?

I’m not getting into that battle.  Sorry.

I’m not sure it’s a battle. the 3% that didn’t agree weren’t qualified to do so:

“As for the 3 percent of scientists who remain unconvinced, the study found their average expertise is far below that of their colleagues, as measured by publication and citation rates.”

            If you say so.
