Okay, first thought? Jesus, she’s hot.

Second thought? She’s 40?

Junie Hoang, 40, is suing the site for more than $1 million, accusing it of costing her lucrative gigs when it published her real birth date — July 16, 1971 — and her “real Asian name,” Huang Hoang.

Last month a judge dismissed the anonymous suit, but Hoang refiled under her real name on Jan. 6, 2012.

Hoang used the stage name Junie to avoid the potential “cultural disadvantage” of her ethnic name, according to the lawsuit filed in Seattle court. She also claims she kept her birthday private to keep her in the running for young roles, like those she had in “Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver” and “Hoodrats 2: Hoodrat Warriors.”

“Lesser-known 40-year-old actresses are not in demand in the movie business,” she states in the lawsuit.

I don’t wanna live in a world where a woman this hot can’t get a role in a B-level slasher film.

If we’re in Libya for purely humanitarian reasons and we’re doing it because Qadaffi has started massacring protestors and we want him to stop, then why didn’t we go into Iran, a country run by equally tyrannical (if not moreso) leaders who also murdered their people during protests, rigged elections, and may actually be developing weapons of mass destruction making them even more dangerous than an impotent wretch in North Africa?

Why Libya, but not Iran?

Or Egypt?

Or Bahrain?

Or Tunisia?

Just asking; I’m not expressing a desire or lack thereof in either direction.

I swear, sometimes I wonder if these people read what they’re going to say before they say it. I’m paraphrasing here, but only slightly…

“A study released today shows that 1/3 of unemployment claims come from the suburbs. Experts caution that while the number is high, urban areas are more than double that number.”

If 1/3 of unemployment claims come from the suburbs, that means 2/3 come from urban areas. You can’t have more than double that number; double that number + that number = 100% of claims.

And no, I’m not misinterpreting that quote. That’s what the woman doing the news break said.

Needless to say, I’m confused.

Let’s worry about propaganda…

The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said the planned burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a Florida church could put the lives of American troops in danger and damage the war effort.

Gen. David Petraeus said the Taliban would exploit the demonstration for propaganda purposes, drumming up anger toward the U.S. and making it harder for allied troops to carry out their mission of protecting Afghan civilians.

“It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort,” Gen. Petraeus said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community.”

I’m not saying he’s 100% wrong, but his rationale really does suck. Everyone is so afraid of everything being used against us for propaganda purposes, and I won’t even deny that will happen. But if this burning doesn’t happen, will it even matter? The reality is that it won’t because we still have Israel as an ally, we still have military on the ground in two Muslim countries, we still are perceived as infidels, and we don’t prosecute people or kill them when they say something we don’t like.

It’s not that I don’t understand where the concern comes from, but for me it’s an issue of scale, and if the media was so concerned about the impression the Koran burning would create, they wouldn’t be reporting on every word coming out of the mouth of some backwoods mouthbreather in Florida who wants to take a match to a book. They’d just ignore it.

I know, that’s asking a lot.

Military officials fear the protests are likely to spread beyond Kabul to other Afghan cities. In interviews with various media outlets, Mr. Jones has denied his protest will put troops in danger. Mr. Jones has been denied a permit for the demonstration but has said he plans to go forward with the his protest anyway.

Mr. Jones leads a tiny church of just 50 people, but his threat to burn the Muslim holy book has been condemned around the world and has garnered him international attention.

50 people. In backwoods Florida. Yet every media outlet is covering this like it’s the Roman Catholic Church in New York City.

Perspective, please.

On Sunday, President Obama told George Stephanopoulos that the ACORN scandals weren’t something he had time for, telling him “this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.”

In that same interview, he seemed quite exasperated that George kept calling his penalty plan for people who don’t want health insurance a “tax.” He doesn’t have the time for that!

He has yet to comment on how he felt about Van Jones and his racist comments and writings, his trutherism, and his proud communist affiliations, instead pointing out along with other apologists that he felt Jones was “taken down.” Through his spokespeople, the President has expressed disappointment at the loss our country is suffering by not having this kook helping create green jobs, whatever the hell those are (a question he himself never once answered when asked).

He hasn’t said a whole lot about the white kid in St. Louis who got the crap beat out of him on the bus for the crime of moving a black kid’s book bag to take a seat. That apparently didn’t even make his radar.

In fact, Obama hasn’t really commented on a hell of a lot at all, right? After all, he’s a busy man with nowhere near enough time to address things like the “Green Jobs” Czar who has a $20bn budget from taxpayers, or ACORN which raised millions of dollars to usher him into the White House in last year’s elections. Apparently he takes his time cues from ABC World News Tonight’s new anchor, Charlie Gibson, who also didn’t have time to pay attention to the insignificance of a government-funded organization and their scandalous practices.

He hasn’t had the time to make a decision on committing extra troops to Afghanistan, in spite of his Commanders in the field telling him it’s urgent and the war will be lost without them. He can’t make that decision yet.

And in twenty years of sitting in the church, he had no idea that Reverend Wright and his equally idiotic associate Reverend Pfleger were spewing racist hate-filled sermons that were so bad that they were removed from the church’s website as the controversy over Obama’s “spiritual advisor” grew to a roar.

Nope. Never enough time.

So what does he have time for?

Well let’s see…

He has time to comment on Kanye West being a jackass… In detail, with an additional reference to a fly he swatted.

He has time to throw out the un-manliest first pitch ever at a baseball game in mom jeans. Plenty of time for that.

He has time to comment on a local police issue in Cambridge, make a second comment on the issue apologizing for his uninformed first comment, and then invite the participants in said controversy to the White House for a beer so we can all have some nice racial harmony in America. That, he has time for.

He also has time to give no less than 6 televised speeches to Congress and the American people imploring them to put their own “petty” thoughts aside, and just go with the flow and support his cause du jour.

He has plenty of time to push for a bill he hasn’t read, only to have a loud-mouthed dope of a Congressman call him out on his lie. Oddly enough, he also has the time to “suggest” a change to said bill that would essentially close the loop hole he was called out about lying about.

He has plenty of time to attend at least two separate fund raisers at thousands of dollars a plate for the DNC.

And he has time to corral the NEA for a marching orders presentation urging them to help mobilize people in support of his policies, turning it into nothing more than a new propaganda arm for the government.

I think our President needs a time management course.

Remember when Hillary Clinton embellished her story about a visit to Bosnia? Remember how she told a harrowing tale of avoiding gunfire on the tarmac and a sprint to escape near-certain death? Remember how the media dissected that immediately then beat her upon the head about it over and over and over again?

Well, apparently Hillary isn’t the only one who embellished her past. Barack Obama remembers very specifically being in a place he wasn’t in and seeing an event he didn’t see.

I should note, just personally, I grew up in Hawaii, as many of you know, and I still recall sitting on my grandfather’s shoulders when those capsules would land in the middle of the Pacific and they’d get brought back and we’d go out and we’d pretend like they could see us as we were waving at folks coming home. And I remember waving American flags and my grandfather telling me that the Apollo mission was an example of how Americans can do anything they put their minds to.

Do you really recall that, Mr. President? Honestly?

Because according to your own biography, you were in another country at the time and didn’t move to Hawaii (after being born there in 1961) until you were ten years old, so the earliest you could’ve been in Hawaii was a year later (more likely two years later; 1971).

In other words, you lied. And not only that, but you didn’t really grow up in Hawaii; you grew up in Indonesia until you were ten.

The truth is, I don’t really care and this is a minor thing, but I can’t get over the lack of reaction. Every time Hillary Clinton opened her mouth, thousands of media lapdogs factchecked her every word. If she said she wore a red dress, they found a picture of her in a blue one and insinuated that such a mistake was enough to disqualify her for the Presidency. Why was her embellishment such a big deal and this one not even mentioned?

In fact, if simply to buttress my point, this is something I’ve already pointed out in the past, only that time it was with Joe Biden…

Again, the lies aren’t what get me. What gets me is the difference, in order of magnitude, of the reaction between one and the other. It’s complete crap and we ought to demand more from our media outlets.

ALL of them.

It strikes me as odd that in some states, the unborn child of a pregnant mother constitutes a second victim in cases of murder, assault, and other violent crimes. Wait, stay with me. That’s not the odd part. By itself, I think it’s a laudable thing to have on the books. No, the odd part is that in those same states with these laudable laws, we have legalized abortion.

Charleston, WV (LifeNews.com) — A West Virginia man is the second person to be indicted under a law that provides protection and justice for pregnant women and their unborn children. The state’s unborn victims law, one of three dozen across the nation, allows prosecutors to hold criminals accountable for killing or injuring both mother and child.

James Louis DeGasperin, a 35 year-old teacher from Preston, is charged with killing his 25 year-old girlfriend Lori Casteel and her unborn child.

Casteel, her son Collin, and her unborn baby, were all killed when DeGasperin hit her with a baseball bat and then killed Collin with a shotgun blast.

In addition to his indictment on first degree murder in the deaths of Casteel and Collin, DeGasperin was indicted for first degree murder in the death of the baby as well because Casteel was six months pregnant at the time.

That can happen because the West Virginia legislature, in 2005, approved Senate Bill 146 and it became law that May when Gov. Joe Manchin signed it.

Under the statute, “a pregnant woman and the embryo or fetus she is carrying in the womb constitute separate and distinct victims” for purposes of the state laws governing murder, manslaughter, and certain other crimes of violence.

How the hell did we allow the pro-abortion lobby to garner so much influence that we can change the definition of a living being under certain circumstances so as not to offend?

Think about it. In the state of West Virginia, if Lori Casteel had gone into a clinic and asked for her child to be murdered by a so-called medical professional, she’d be protected under the law. In fact, so sancrosanct is that law that you dare not even protest outside of a clinic lest you be charged with racketeering and conspiracy. Yet, because that same killable fetus was done in by Ms. Casteel’s boyfriend, it’s murder.

If killing something in the womb is murder for the sake of a murder rap, how can we morally justify killing something in the womb and protecting it in the name of allowing mothers the right to “choose?”

Governor Paterson warned that a tax on the “wealthy” may be hitting New York State soon in an effort to close the budget gap that no one saw coming. In a prepared statement to the media, Paterson warned:

“Taxing the wealthy is probably going to be part of the solution if the deficit gets any worse, and all indications are that it probably will. If the deficit starts to grow again, then we’re out of moves. I’ve cut as much as I could.”

While the Governor gives his doomsday scenario and tells everyone that he’s already made cuts to everything, anyone in the know can just sit back and laugh because despite the “cuts,” Paterson’s plan for FY 2009 will see spending go up 5.5% from where it is right now. The question is, what did Paterson actually cut that caused spending to actually rise 5%?

Well, nothing. In a word, Paterson has done what politicians (particularly activist Democrats) have been doing for years; they call a slowed rate of growth a cut.

Allow me to give you an example.

Let’s say your allowance is $5 a week from mom and dad. Every year they raise your allowance one dollar, so that after five years, your allowance is now ten dollars a week. Realizing they can’t keep up the pace, they decide to raise it in year ten by only fifty cents. Your allowance after five years is now $10.50 instead of the $11.00 you were expecting it to be. In any normal mind, you got a $0.50 raise because your allowance went up $0.50. In the activist Democrat mind, your allowance was cut $0.50 because you didn’t get the dollar you normally got.

For example, while people gnash teeth about things like the “$700m cut to education,” buried in the explanation is that most of that relies on a four-year delay in increased aid to pre-kindergarten classes and a hike to tuition for CUNY and SUNY schools. The “doomsday” budget also includes “cuts” to Medicaid that, by some miracle, manage to raise spending on Medicaid by $1.1bn. How does that exactly work?

In the end, the New York State budget is a damn joke. Albany has no idea how to balance a budget, and for years has done so by increasing taxes and fees but rarely ever makes any cuts in their budget. This year is no exception because despite the “devastating effects” of the budget and the huge deficit we face, the Governor’s new budget is higher than the one that got us into this mess to begin with.

From Fox News, Wednesday December 17th:

Twenty-two of the 36 states facing budget deficits this fiscal year are increasing spending. Yes, increasing. Many states are collecting significantly less revenue than they counted on when budgets were drafted six months ago.

Spending cuts or tax increases will be necessitated because a number of states are required by law to balance their budgets. Cybercast News reports a survey from the National Governors Association and the National Association of State Budget Officers released this week says the biggest offender is Nevada which at mid-year was $115 million in debt but plans to increase spending by just over 11%. New York will spend about 5.5% more despite being $1.8 billion in the red. Rounding out the top five are Ohio, North Carolina and Connecticut.

If that doesn’t stand out to you as utterly ridiculous, nothing will.

Drew Curtis wants everyone to calm down…

About the NSFW Trademark Application, I can say three things:

1) Yes, we applied for it.

2) Can’t comment on the prank angle other than “stay tuned.”

3) Muhahaha.

I’ve gotten a few email complaints about the NSFW trademark ap. It bears mentioning that I received 10x as many complaints about the DealNews ad with the picture of some guy’s ass in it (removed already, whoever over at DealNews thought that was a good idea needs to be punched in the face), and 100x as many complaints when we moved all the boobies links over to Foobies.com (NSFW™). There’s an interesting yet unsurprising cross section of the priorities of an Internet audience for you.

I’m guessing the complaints are from people who don’t read Fark, otherwise they’d know our end goal couldn’t possibly be suing everyone using NSFW out of existence.

Actually, Drew, I never thought you were going to sue anyone out of existence, and I do regularly read Fark, but that doesn’t change the fact that until proven otherwise, your application for a trademark on a phrase you didn’t invent makes you look like an asshole until further notice.

I await being proven wrong.

That employee called the Wake County Health Department, and an inspector ordered the Pizza Hut closed. The inspector also pulled the restaurant’s permit so it can’t operate until the rodent problem is corrected.

I don’t know… I tend to find that people who report their bosses to OSHA, the Health Department, and all these other agencies are usually doing so out of spite for something. I don’t know if it’s the case here, but I do find it odd that an employee at a restaurant would endanger their job and the jobs of others without some kind of bone to pick.

Something in my gut tells me that this is one of those cases where the employee was having a rough go of it and decided to get back at the boss; the boss then picked up on it and fired her ass. I really don’t know that to be the case, but I’d be utterly stunned if it wasn’t.

What is it about the piece of shit poet, obsessed boy lover, gay drug using piece of shit Allen Ginsberg that the left loves so much?

I was flipping through Boing Boing and Cory Doctorow goes off on a glowing post to this piece of garbage maintaining the left’s consistent love of this talentless hack.

I just finished listening to the 3-CD Allen Ginsberg Audio Collection — I was mostly interested in the classics like Howl and Kaddish, Pull My Daisy and Don’t Grow Old, but the poem that totaly took me away was “Put Down Your Cigarette Rag,” a poetic song that can make me laugh, dance, and sing along even after about 20 listens. It’s also totally stuck in my head and I find myself singing it under my breath as I walk down the street.

There’s a link to the “lyrics” in the post and a link to this piece of garbage performing the video.

My question is a simple one: Why does anyone think this guy has any talent? Something tells me if he was a right wing pro-war type and didn’t lust after young boys, the left would want nothing to do with him, but by and large, he’s an icon.

I don’t get it.
